CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - Nov. 7, 2011) -
WHAT Since 1999, the Calgary Homeless Foundation (CHF) has held an annual fund-raising event, uniquely supported by the Premier of Alberta to "help the homeless." The first events were "roasts" of Premier Ralph Klein. Premier Ed Stelmach continued the tradition by hosting Ed's Really Big Shew and then Ed's House Warming.
As the CHF started to organize this event in 2011, it was not known who the Premier would be. When Alison Redford became the Premier of Alberta in October 2011, she graciously agreed to carry on the 12-year tradition.
Over the past month, response to this fundraising event has been overwhelmingly positive, with more than 450 people purchasing tickets. These attendees represent all levels of government, business leaders, non-profit agencies, philanthropists and the faith communities.
