At the EANM congress in Birmingham Asal Shafi gave the best presentation in the Technologist Oral Presentation Sessions and was awarded the “Covidien European Technologist Award 2011”. The winner will receive the prize in a ceremony, November 10, at the University Hospital in Malmö.
Asal Shafi, biomedical analytic (BMA) at the University Hospital in Malmö (UMAS), was awarded the prize for best presentation in the Technology Oral Presentation Session at the annual congress of EANM in Birmingham. Asal presented a study which meant that the technologists automatically can determine if a patient requires additional images of a bone scan. The study was conducted with 40 training cases, which were processed in a version of EXINI bone™, and showed very good results.
This means that the technologists in a greater extent can determine if additional images need to be taken, which in turn causes a further optimization of the workflow and work environment, an important target when using EXINI products.
An award ceremony will be held at UMAS in November 10 where Asal Shafi will receive the prize - "Covidien European Technologist Award 2011".
