Venstar Announces Value Series Residential Thermostats With Battery Back-Up Power

Battery Keeps Thermostat Working If Power Fails

CHATSWORTH, CA--(Marketwire - Nov 16, 2011) - Venstar®, a leading thermostat and energy management systems supplier, today announced the availability of its new Value Series of residential thermostats that feature battery back-up that supplements system power in the event of a power failure. The battery keeps the thermostat's clock functional for up to one year, so re-setting the clock is not needed should power go out. Additionally, all time period programming and advanced setup programming is stored permanently in the event of a power failure in the thermostat's memory.

The new Value Series of thermostats combines an easy-to-use function and easy-view display with affordable pricing. Now available throughout the United States and Canada, Venstar's Value Series comes in four models: T0130 and T1035 (1 Heat, 1 Cool, Non-Programmable or 5+2 Day Programmable); and T0140 and T1045 (2 Heat, 1 Cool Heat Pump, Non-Programmable or 5+2 Day Programmable), all of which are battery or system powered. Estimated street prices start at $30.

"Venstar's Value Series of residential battery-powered thermostats are designed for homeowners who want the security of having battery back-up power in addition to the system power in an affordable, easy-to-use thermostat," said Steve Dushane, president and CEO of Venstar Inc. "In addition, this series is easy to use and view with its large, easy-to-read backlit digital display that instantly shows the user the room temperature and whether the heating or air conditioning is on or off."
