POWERS LAKE, WI--(Marketwire - Nov 16, 2011) - TCGRx (TCG) announces the launch of the InspectRx pouch verification device and collation unit, which will be showcased at the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists Annual Meeting and Exhibition, November 16-18, in Phoenix, AZ.
"InspectRx is a tool that our customers can use to greatly improve efficiencies and accuracy during the inspection and manifesting process of filling scripts through pouch automation," said TCG CEO Duane Chudy. "InspectRx decreases errors while increasing safe and accurate medication output. When combined with TCG's ATP Series Packager, the two products provide pharmacies with a complete solution to produce, inspect, and distribute medications to their long-term care facilities."
InspectRx provides visual inspection of 60 pouches per minute, identifies incorrect medications and flags exceptions for pharmacist review. It offers an accurate inspection with an indexed system organized by day and pass time for easy reference and provides images of each side of the medication pouch. The optional collation unit further enhances the capabilities of InspectRx by sorting, rolling and cutting medications by patient and isolating any pouches that are determined to contain errors.
"This collation unit can be used to reduce the mundane labor of sorting and organizing patient medication strips and allows pharmacists and technicians to focus on more quality related activities," said TCG Senior VP of Customer Operations Jim Spernow.
InspectRx's design is user friendly and easily directs the user through visual archiving and automatic sorting of pouches by day and by pass time with analysis of possible labeling and filling issues. Pharmacists will be utilized in other locations because analysis is done at either the point of dispensing or remotely.
