Government of Canada Supports Growth of Finition S.M.B.

SAINT-JÉRÔME, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Nov. 16, 2011) - The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, announces that Saint-Jérôme firm Finition S.M.B has been awarded $150,000 in repayable financial assistance to acquire specialized equipment.

"The Government of Canada believes it is paramount to support a growth company like Finition S.M.B. whose project will generate considerable investment and lead to the creation of new jobs in the Laurentides region," said the Minister.

Founded in Saint-Jérôme in 1995, Finition S.M.B. specializes, among others, in wood door and window finishing and in varnishing, tinting and painting frame mouldings, panelling and siding.

The funding from Canada Economic Development will enable the firm to execute a project that will begin with the acquisition of high performance equipment and end with increased production capabilities and productivity as well as a wider range of products. Finition S.M.B. is therefore taking action to diversify its clientele, enhance its position in its sector and better meet the needs of the industry, which faces very strong competition in the North American market.

This financial assistance has been awarded through the Business and Regional Growth program.
