The City of Calgary Opens Its Doors for Project Homeless Connect 13 Saturday, November 19, 2011


CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - Nov. 17, 2011) -

What: To date, more than 9,000 people at risk of or experiencing homelessness have attended 12 previous Project Homeless Connect (PHC) events in Calgary.

At PHC, those at risk of or experiencing homelessness in Calgary can access support from more than 45 agencies and service providers all in one location. This free event provides a number of services, including legal advice and help getting identification; mental health and addictions counselling; information on income support; employment counselling; housing information; a variety of medical services and more. Those attending can also receive free haircuts, comfort kits (toiletries, socks, mitts and toques), clothing and a nutritious, hot lunch.

8 a.m. Muffins/beverages provided in line before doors open
9 a.m. Doors open to participants
12 p.m. Lunch is served until 2 p.m.
