SAINT-PHILIPPE-DE-NÉRI, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Nov. 21, 2011) - The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, announces that startup firm De Néri Tôlerie Inc. has been awarded a repayable contribution of $139,250 to manufacture agricultural machinery for dairy farms.
"By financially supporting De Néri Tôlerie Inc. in launching its operations, the Government of Canada is encouraging the development of expertise in the manufacturing of agricultural equipment and metal products," said the Minister.
Founded in April 2011, De Néri Tôlerie Inc. will manufacture dairy farm equipment targeted for the Quebec, Ontario and Atlantic Canada markets. The firm intends to develop its own product line and offer services under contract. De Néri Tôlerie will be the first company in Quebec to manufacture rail conveyors for cow milking units, a product until now imported from Europe. To carry out its project, De Néri Tôlerie Inc. will acquire a high-definition plasma cutting table, a numerically controlled brake press, a dust collector, computers and software, an overhead travelling crane, shelving and various accessories and tools for metal processing.
The startup of this firm directly contributes to economic activity in the Kamouraska Regional County Municipality (RCM) and the consolidation and development of the agricultural sector, a major area of activity for the RCM.
This funding has been awarded through Canada Economic Development's Community Diversification program.
