Escape From Montee St-Francois Institution


LAVAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Nov. 22, 2011) - On November 21, 2011, at approximately 6:00 p.m., inmate Eric Lacasse was discovered missing from the Montée St-François Institution, a minimum-security federal institution located in Laval.

The police have been notified and a warrant has been issued for the inmate's arrest. The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) will continue to work with them in an effort to locate the offender as quickly as possible. Anyone with information as to the whereabouts of Eric Lacasse is asked to contact police.

Eric Lacasse, 39, is described as 1 m 77 (5 feet 8 inches) in height, his weight is 75 Kg (165 lbs), and he has blue eyes and light brown hair. He is serving a 3 year, 11 months and 8 day sentence since February 2, 2009 for breaking and entering, and theft.

CSC will review the circumstances surrounding the incident and will take necessary measures to address any safety and security issues resulting from this incident.
