SAINT-ROBERT, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Nov. 24, 2011) - The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, announces that Fromagerie Polyethnique Inc. has been granted funding to purchase new equipment that will allow the firm to manufacture a new product, increase production and improve the energy efficiency of its factory.

"The Government of Canada decided to support this Fromagerie Polyethnique project because it will help develop the agri-food sector in Montérégie and contribute to the economic diversification of the Pierre-De Saurel RCM," said Minister Lebel.

Fromagerie Polyethnique is Quebec's leading producer of traditional Arab cheeses, a market in growing demand. Since its establishment in 1993, the enterprise has launched 16 dairy products which it currently sells under the brand names of Le Bédouin and Les Aliments Phoenicia and distributes to major cities across Canada and the north-eastern United States.
