Jackson Labs Technologies, Inc. Delivers High Performance 8-Channel Radar Reference Oscillator

"ULN-8R" Is an 8-Frequency Ultra-Low Phase-Noise Local Oscillator for Radar Applications

LOS GATOS, CA--(Marketwire - Nov 30, 2011) - Jackson Labs Technologies, Inc, a designer and manufacturer of cutting-edge frequency and timing equipment, today announced the availability of its breakthrough product ULN-8R, an 8-frequency, 80MHz to 120MHz Frequency Reference for Radar Applications. ULN-8R has up to 8 different low-g sensitivity crystal frequencies built-in that can be selected via a 3-pin TTL interface for in-situ channel selection. ULN-8R is designed to work as a selectable low phase-noise frequency reference for Radar Applications, SatCom, broadcast, and test and measurement equipment.

At only 3 x 2.5 x 0.7 inches small, ULN-8R is tested against shock to MIL-STD-202G, M213 Condition C, and against vibration to MIL-STD-202G, M204 Condition C, and ages at less than 1ppm per year. ULN-8R has an extended temperature range operation, and can operate from +9V to +18V at less than 0.7W power consumption. Customers can order the ULN-8R with 8 custom frequencies, or select from off-the-shelf frequency ranges such as 106MHz to 109MHz. Typical phase noise performance of the ULN-8R with a 107MHz carrier is -104dBc/Hz at 10Hz, -131dBc/Hz at 100Hz, -152dBc/Hz at 1KHz, -160dBc/Hz at 10KHz, and -168dBc/Hz at 1MHz. ULN-8R has a low-pass filtered +8dBm Sine Wave output with harmonics < -40dBc, and with spurs smaller than -135dBc typically.

Jackson Labs Technologies, Inc. President Said Jackson noted that the ULN-8R is an especially good fit for radar-reference applications: "The ULN-8R was specifically designed to meet stringent radar applications requiring low cost, very low phase noise, different selectable carrier frequencies, ruggedness with extended temperature range, small physical size and weight, and very low power consumption. ULN-8R is optimally suited as a Radar Reference Local Oscillator, and anywhere where great phase noise performance and frequency selectability is important."
