IPC The Hospitalist Company Names New Senior Vice-President of Operations


NORTH HOLLYWOOD, Calif., Nov. 30, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- IPC The Hospitalist Company, Inc. (Nasdaq:IPCM), announced today that it has appointed Glenn Appelbaum to the newly created position of Senior Vice-President of Operations. In his new role, Appelbaum will be responsible for operational supervision of IPC's budgets and forecasts, developing plans for operational improvements, tracking performances to the plans, and for operational oversight of a number of the company's market areas. Appelbaum will report to R. Jeffrey Taylor, IPC's President and COO, and will assume his new responsibilities December 1, 2011.

Appelbaum joined IPC in 1999 as Executive Director of the St. Louis region. His area of responsibility subsequently grew to include four states: North Carolina (2005), Tennessee (2006), Georgia (2007) and Alabama (2011). Prior to joining IPC, Appelbaum held various financial and senior executive positions with Alexian Brothers Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri from 1985 to 1999. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Missouri and is a Certified Public Accountant.
