Recapture of Inmate From Montee St-Francois Institution


LAVAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Jan. 12, 2012) - As a result of a collaborative effort between the Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) and the Service de police de la Ville de Québec, federal offender Michel Comeau, who had escaped from Montée St-François Institution on the evening of January 11, 2012, was recaptured on January 12, 2012 without incident, in Québec city.

At the time of his escape, Michel Comeau was serving a sentence of 2 years, 9 months and 15 days since July 13, 2011 for possession and use of a stolen credit card, theft, fraud and breaking and entering.

CSC will review the circumstances surrounding the incident and will take necessary measures to address any safety and security issues resulting from this incident.
