Final push is on RALLY FOR TORONTO: Build Toronto, don't destroy it!


TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Jan. 17, 2012) - A major rally to preserve city services and stop the looming cuts proposed by the Ford administration will take place 5:30 p.m., Tues., Jan. 17, at Nathan Phillips Square.

Residents, city workers, mothers, fathers, children, students and people spanning every age, race and income group will take part in a mass expression of concern... and hope: hope that the messages of the huge mobilizations, rallies, neighbourhood meetings and deputations will be heard by City Councillors.

During these last days of debate on the 2012 city budget, Council chambers are expected to be packed in the final push to rescue Toronto from Mayor Rob Ford's efforts to cut services and jobs in neighbourhoods across the city.
