Calian's SED Division Signs Contract for Additional RF Systems

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Jan. 18, 2012) - Calian Technologies Ltd. (TSX:CTY) is pleased to announce that its Systems Engineering Division (SED) has signed another contract with VT iDirect, Inc. (iDirect) for the provision and installation of antennas and RF Systems for Inmarsat's forthcoming Ka-band Global Xpress™ network. The additional contract is valued in excess of $10 million USD.

iDirect was selected as the prime contractor for the ground system to support Inmarsat's new state-of-the-art Global Xpress high-speed VSAT service. SED was chosen by iDirect for the provision and installation of the antennas and RF Systems.
