Organic Named Ad Age's Comeback Agency of the Year

Strong New Business Momentum in 2011 Earned Organic a Spot in Prestigious Annual A-List Issue

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - Jan 23, 2012) - Digital agency Organic (www.organic.com) has been named Advertising Age's Comeback Agency of the Year. The accolade came in Ad Age's annual A-List issue, which honors the best and brightest in the business.

Recognized for strong new business momentum in 2011 under the leadership of CEO Marita Scarfi, Organic was praised for its continuous evolution in the face of changing economic and media landscapes. Launched 19 years ago as the first pure-play digital shop in the country, Organic is the rare digital marketing pioneer that is continuing to thrive.

"Organic is immensely honored to be recognized by Advertising Age," Scarfi said. "Our success in 2011 is testament to the team we've built here and the true passion we have for what we do. We are proud to work with our incredible client partners, and looking forward to another year of success ahead."

In 2011, Organic added more than 10 new clients to its roster, including: Pepsi, Specialized Bicycles, Hasbro, The Hartford Inc., Visa, The Meth Project, the British Library, and the BBC. Organic's creative excellence, strategic thinking, and consumer-focused approach to technology and analytics were contributing factors to these wins.

Last year Organic also created and produced its first-ever TV campaign. Partnering with filmmaker Darren Aronofosky, Organic made a series of high-impact TV spots for The Meth Project, a large-scale prevention program aimed at reducing Meth use among teens. Video was just one component of a fully integrated campaign seeking to change the drug prevention game by leveraging the power of shared media among teens.

Organic in 2011 also continued to collect awards for its groundbreaking work on behalf of Kimberly-Clark's U by Kotex brand. Since 2010, the agency's category-defying marketing efforts for the feminine hygiene brand have earned than 30 industry accolades, including three Effie Awards and two David Ogilvy Awards.
