Estrella Releases an Operational Update


BUENOS AIRES, ARGENTINA--(Marketwire - Jan. 24, 2012) -

Estrella International Energy Services Ltd. ("Estrella") (TSX VENTURE:EEN), announces that over the weekend, the labour unrest, strikes, and community demonstrations in Barranca Bermejo, Colombia, were lifted with Ecopetrol reaching agreement with the unions and community leaders.

Estrella operates four rigs in the area through its subsidiary Petroland. These four rigs have already recommenced activity in the La Cira Infantes field, where they are on contract until the end of 2012. Elsewhere, Estrella has been awarded a mutli-well contract with another operator in southern Colombia, with the rig expecting a mobilization notice in the next few days. Estrella continues to negotiate additional contracts with a variety of operators around the country.
