MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA--(Marketwire - Jan 26, 2012) - Tintri, Inc., the leading producer of VM-aware storage appliances, today announced the appointment of Ken Klein to its Board of Directors. Klein joins Dr. Forest Baskett and Peter Sonsini of NEA, Chris Schaepe of Lightspeed Venture Partners and Dr. Kieran Harty, Tintri's founder and CEO, on the company's board, effective immediately. As a member of Tintri board, Klein will support customer and partner initiatives and help solidify the company's position as a leader in the flash storage space.

"Tintri has produced a truly innovative product that leverages two of the most significant IT advances of the past decade: flash and virtualization," said Ken Klein, Tintri Board Member. "IT departments across the board are rethinking their storage architectures to better support the modern IT environment, and Tintri has positioned itself perfectly to emerge as a leader in the next-generation storage market. Klein is President of Wind River Systems, a leading provider of embedded and mobile software that was acquired by Intel Corporation in 2009. Prior to Wind River, Klein served as Chief Operating Officer and board member for Mercury Interactive for 12 years. Klein also currently serves on the boards of both G2tech and Meltwater Group.

"Ken Klein brings a wealth of experience to our company as we look to further expand our market footprint," said Dr. Kieran Harty, Tintri CEO. "He has been associated with a number of successful startups over the years, and his counsel will be invaluable as we continue to evolve our product and strategy for 2012 and beyond."

On January 5, Tintri announced results for 2011, its first year on the market. The company experienced 100% quarter-over-quarter growth as it expanded globally and added over 40 new customers.
