OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Feb. 2, 2012) - Focus Metals Inc. ("Focus" or "the Company") (TSX VENTURE:FMS)(OTCQX:FCSMF)(FRANKFURT:FKC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Marc-André Bernier, M.Sc., P.Geo. to the Board of Directors of the Company effective immediately.

Mr. Bernier is a geoscientist with 27 years of applied geoscientific research and project management experience relating to mineral exploration, both nationally and internationally. He is currently employed as senior geoscientist for the Chibougamau-based Table Jamésienne de Concertation Minière (TJCM) and its applied research division, the Centre d'Étude Appliqué du Quaternaire (CÉAQ). From 2009 to 2011, on behalf of the TJCM, Mr. Bernier acted as senior mining industry adviser to Makivik Corp., the organization mandated to protect the economic rights and interests of the Inuit of Nunavik. Since November 2010, Mr. Bernier has been acting as senior technical adviser to Focus notably on the Lac Knife graphite project, the Kwyjibo polymetallic project and for the review of new business development opportunities.

Mr. Bernier is a director of Majescor Resources Inc. (TSX-V: MJX) and its wholly-owned subsidiary Simact Alliance Copper-Gold Inc.; the Société Minière du Nord-Est (SOMINE SA) a Haitian-registered mining company. He is a registered Geoscientist (P.Geo) and practicing member of the Ordre des géologues du Québec (OGQ) and the Association of Professional Geoscientists of Ontario (APGO); a registered member of the Canadian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (CIMM); and he holds a Bachelor of Science Honours degree in Geology from the University of Ottawa as well as a Master of Science in Geological Sciences from McGill University in Montréal.
