EdgeWave Names Technology Veterans to Key Executive Positions

SAN DIEGO, CA--(Marketwire - Feb 7, 2012) - EdgeWave Inc. (OTCBB: EWVE) (OTCQB: EWVE), a leading provider of Secure Content Management (SCM) solutions, today announced two new executive appointments: Dave Maquera has been named to the newly created position of President, and Steve Kelley has been appointed SVP of Corporate Development and Product Strategy. Maquera will report to EdgeWave CEO Lou Ryan, and Kelley will report to Maquera.

Dave Maquera brings over 25 years of executive leadership experience, most recently as Chief Strategy Officer and Senior Vice President of Clearwire, where he led strategic and corporate initiatives that produced strategic partnerships and funding opportunities. Maquera established Clearwire as a co-founder in the largest global partnership for 4G smartphone/device technology ecosystems in the industry. This partnership included China Mobile, Vodafone, Softbank, and others, with a combined wireless customer base of over one billion people. Prior to that, he was Vice President of strategic development for Cricket Communications/Leap Wireless, Inc., where he was instrumental in driving the growth of its broadband wireless market. As an Associate with McKinsey & Company, Maquera was responsible for strategic analysis and planning for senior management, including redesigning manufacturing operations to enable a multi-billion dollar aerospace and defense company merger. He also served for ten years in the United States Navy, where he was an aviator and Desert Storm combat veteran, and served as a Chief Operations Officer (COO) for Joint Warfare and Combat Flight Operations. Maquera holds a B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania and an M.B.A. from Harvard.

Steve Kelley is a security software veteran with over 15 years of experience in technology strategy, product management, and business development roles in the enterprise information technology industry. His prior experience includes working at BeyondTrust as EVP, Corporate Development where he helped drive the firm's product and M&A strategy to reposition the company as the global leader of Privileged Identity Management solutions across physical, virtual and cloud-based data centers. Prior to BeyondTrust, Kelley worked at Websense in product management and business development leadership roles that contributed to the company's market leading position in the secure content management market, as the company grew from $35 million in revenue to over $300 million in total billings over a seven year period. He was also a co-founder at Taasera, Inc., a next generation security software company that was focused on establishing trustworthiness of enterprise technology assets in cloud infrastructures. Kelley began his career at Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) and he has a B.B.A. from the University of Notre Dame and an M.B.A. from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
