Big Fuel Named 'Global Society Hub' for Social Media Week 2012

Leading Social Media Agency Will Serve as Center for Everything Global and Social


NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - Feb 10, 2012) - Big Fuel, the leading social media agency, has been appointed official content hub for Social Media Week NYC 2012. Designated "Global Society Hub," the agency will serve as the central headquarters for official SMW programming throughout the week of February 13-17.

Centered on the Global Theme, Empowering Change through Collaboration, several iconic institutions across the city were chosen to lead content and conversation around seven key topics throughout the week including Advertising & Marketing; Social & Environmental Change; Health & Wellness; Art & Culture; Music, Media & Entertainment; Business Innovation; and Global Society.

As the newest addition to SMW's programming this year, the "Global Society Hub" will provide attendees the opportunity to watch live-streaming events from the other 11 cities involved and will function as a place to experience a wide range of programming, including panels with Crimson Hexagon, Klout, Mediapost's Social Media Insider Cathy Taylor and Hot97's DJ Funk Master Flex.

Attendees will also get a chance to experience interactive installations like Nokia's Agora, a social visualization system that will showcase real-time social chatter and user-generated content around SMW, co-create with other participants and partake in fireside chats hosted by Big Fuel CEO Jon Bond with guests including Jon Winsor of Victors & Spoils, David Hirsch of Metamorphic Ventures LLC, and Joseph Jaffe of crayon.
