East Asia Minerals Announces Board Appointment and Option Grant


VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Feb. 13, 2012) - East Asia Minerals Corporation (TSX VENTURE:EAS) announces the appointment of Mr. Ed Flood to the Board of Directors. Mr. Flood has over 35 years of experience in international mining and is CEO and Chairman of Concordia Resource Corp. Mr. Flood was previously the Deputy Chairman of Ivanhoe Mines Ltd. and its founding President. Prior to joining Ivanhoe, Mr. Flood was a principal at Robertson Stephens & Co., an investment bank in San Francisco where he was a member of the investment team for the Contrarian Fund, a public mutual fund focused on natural resource development projects around the world. He also served as the Non-Executive Chairman of Byron Capital Markets from 2010 to 2012 and was Managing Director, Investment Banking for Haywood Securities (UK) Ltd. from 2007 to 2010. He holds both a Bachelors and Masters degree in Geology.

The Company also announces the grant of 250,000 incentive stock options at an exercise price of $0.66 per common share exercisable in whole or part on or before five years from February 10, 2012.
