AlliedBarton Security Services, HR Plus, the Association of Contingency Planners and Greater Hartford BOMA Present a Free Workplace Violence Prevention Seminar

HARTFORD, CT--(Marketwire - Feb 16, 2012) - AlliedBarton Security Services, the industry's premier provider of highly trained security personnel, and HR Plus, a leading provider of background screening services, in partnership with the Association of Contingency Planners and Greater Hartford BOMA, will host a free workplace violence prevention seminar. The seminar will be held at Northeast Utilities Auditorium - 107 Selden Street, Berlin, CT, on Tuesday, March 13. Registration and breakfast will begin at 7:30 a.m. with the seminar following from 8:00 - 12:30 p.m. Lunch will also be served.

"Seminars like this can help to prepare employees for potential incidents of all types," said Captain Kelvan Kearse, Windsor Police Department and Regional SWAT. "By creating opportunities for employees to increase their knowledge of dealing with bomb threats, shootings and other potential workplace violence threats, we not only increase their safety at work, but in their communities. It is extremely important for law enforcement, security, business and community leaders to work together to develop response plans and provide training and direction to increase safety. This is especially true today given the potential and very real threats posed by terrorists groups from outside and within our country."

"When it comes to a topic with as much weight and impact as workplace violence, we must never stop the process of educating ourselves and others," said Brent O'Bryan, Vice President of Learning and Development, AlliedBarton. "Education and continued commitment help lead to awareness, intervention and prevention in the workplace."

"Safety is an ever-growing concern in any industry," said Kara Braun, Vertical Market Director, AlliedBarton. "We have to inform employees at all levels so they understand the importance of workplace violence prevention and awareness."

Seminar discussion and workshop topics will focus on personal safety and workplace violence prevention and awareness. Speakers will include: Captain Kelvan Kearse, Windsor PD and Regional SWAT; Kara Braun, Vertical Market Director, AlliedBarton; and Brent O'Bryan, Vice President of Learning and Development, AlliedBarton.

Attendees will receive a complimentary copy in eBook format of Potential: Workplace Violence Prevention and Your Organizational Success, written by AlliedBarton's CEO and President Bill Whitmore.
