Canadian Forces Radio and Television Awards International Datacasting with New Teleport Contract


OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - March 1, 2012) - International Datacasting Corporation (TSX:IDC), a global leader in digital content distribution solutions for the world's premiere broadcasters, announces the awarding of a new contract to provide the Canadian Forces Radio and Television (CFRT) broadcast services for up to a further five year period.

This new contract replaces the existing contract which expires on March 31, 2012 and extends the service offering on similar terms for the next two years, with options for one year renewals in each of the three years thereafter at the discretion of the Canadian Forces Personnel and Family Support Services.

CFRT's two video and four radio channels will be packaged by IDC based on Canadian programming sources to create a private and secure broadcast network. The CFRT service will be provisioned to the various deployed Canadian Forces personnel in military locations in Europe and the Middle East using MPEG video encoding and DVB satellite technology.

IDC is responsible for all aspects of programming including; negotiating rights and permissions, scheduling, recording, and managing the secure and reliable content distribution network from its Teleport in Ottawa.
