The 700-hp, two-seat Aventador J is a technology showcase that combines innovative design, high-tech materials, extreme performance and exclusivity – only one vehicle was produced, and has already sold for 2.1 million Euros.

The vehicle is based on Lamborghini's V12 flagship, the Aventador LP 700-4, introduced in Geneva one year ago. Major design- and performance-oriented changes include the removal of the roof, windshield and convenience items such as navigation, car audio, heating and air conditioning systems; this results in an even lower mass than the Aventador LP 700-4's dry weight of 3,472 lbs.
The Aventador J shown at the Geneva Motor Show is a one-off, and at the show's conclusion will be delivered to its new owner. As this audacious vehicle is fully functional for road use, the open-top design requires that driver and passenger wear a helmet while driving.
The Aventador LP 700-4 has been lauded for its innovative carbon fiber monocoque, which combines systematic lightweight design with optimum stiffness and safety. In this open version, the monocoque has a largely new design. Other lightweight carbon fiber components include the front and rear bumpers, safety bars and rear spoiler.
Lamborghini extends its expertise in carbon fiber from the Aventador J's high-tech monocoque to its lightweight seats, which are made of Forged COMPOSITE® with inserts of "CarbonSkin" a newly patented, flexible carbon fiber fabric.
Seen for the first time in an automotive application, "CarbonSkin" is made of woven carbon fibers soaked with a special epoxy resin that stabilizes the fiber and keeps the material soft. Future applications of "CarbonSkin" in various industries are conceivable.
Virtually every part of the body was redesigned for the Aventador J. In keeping with the brand's tradition, its doors open upward. The front and rear bumpers feature carbon fiber fins that act as flow deviators, creating a significant increase in the vehicle's front and rear downforce.
