Phil Cedar to Bring Broad Securities Markets Experience to the Firm

Cedar has joined the firm as Counsel in its New York office. Cedar's more than 30 years of experience focused on financial services industry matters, both in private practice and as a senior in-house counsel, will further expand BuckleySandler's existing financial services capabilities.

Prior to joining BuckleySandler, Cedar was a partner in the financial services group of K&L Gates LLP. While there, he provided transactional and regulatory advice to broker-dealers, banks and their affiliates focusing on fixed income securities trading and financing and the secondary mortgage markets. He also served as a Senior Managing Director in the Legal Department of Bear Stearns covering the firm's fixed income, mortgage and asset-backed businesses. Cedar began his career as a litigator at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP.

Cedar graduated cum laude from Boston College Law School, where he was an Articles Editor for the Environmental Affairs Law Review, and received his undergraduate degree from Brandeis University magna cum laude. He has served as a speaker and panelist at a number of securities and mortgage industry and legal conferences.
