LCA Holds Fur-ious Protests Against DASH Stores

Kardashians Refuse to Officially State Stores Are Fur-Free

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - Apr 14, 2012) - LCA held simultaneous demonstrations at DASH locations in CA, NY and Miami Beach demanding the Kardashians' stores officially go fur-free. Calls also flooded the store phone lines.

DASH owners, the Kardashian sisters and their mother, Kris Jenner, refuse to make an official statement addressing the sale of fur in their stores. On April 10, 2012, the office of Lance Klein, agent to DASH owners, told LCA, "I don't want to provide an official statement and nor do they."

After Kim was flour bombed last month, she stated DASH does not sell fur. Shopping receipts, however, prove DASH sold fur items as recently as February 2012.

Ironically, Kim spoke against puppy mills in LCA's Adopt, Don't Shop! video, stating, "The dogs in pet shops are inhumanely bred for profit."

"This isn't about the Kardashians, this is about the animals," says Chris DeRose. "As business owners, one simple decision by them can save hundreds, thousands of animals. All we ask is a commitment, an official, public pledge to go fur-free, permanently. Doing so will tell countless other retailers and shoppers that fur isn't fashionable."

Over 50 million fur-bearing animals are brutally killed every year worldwide. Fur animals are skinned alive or are killed via trapping, gassing, neck breaking and anal electrocution. Many are in small wire cages that result in self-mutilation, cannibalism, psychotic behavior and agonizing foot problems.

LCA, a national animal rights organization based in Los Angeles has been active for nearly three decades. Founded and led by animal expert, author, and actor, Chris DeRose, LCA's roots began in exposing the inherent cruelty of vivisection. LCA fights for the rights of animals by conducting investigations that expose animal cruelty, launching public awareness campaigns, pushing animal friendly legislation and helping prosecute animal abusers. www.LCAnimal.org
