ARCADIS WINS LARGE ENVIRONMENTAL CONTRACT IN GERMANY

ARCADIS (EURONEXT: ARCAD), the international consultancy, design, engineering and management services company, today announced that as a teaming partner of CDM Smith it has become contract partner in an environmental framework contract with the US Army Corps of Engineers in Wiesbaden, Germany. The ARCADIS/CDM team is one of five consultants on this five year contract which has a contract ceiling of US$ 35 million. Under this contract ARCADIS can compete for task orders with a select number of competitors.

This is the third large contract in which ARCADIS participates with this client in Europe. Previous contracts were US$45 million and US$20 million. Under this new contract, the consortium of which ARCADIS is part will perform a wide range of environmental services including environmental compliance support, pollution prevention, hazardous and solid waste management, air and water quality, and energy management and related services. Generally, the contract has been designed to provide ongoing contractual support to the US Army Corps of Engineers to assist U.S. facilities in Europe in attaining and maintaining compliance with environmental laws and regulations. In addition to this, assistance will be provided in the management of hazardous waste systems.

"This contract underlines ARCADIS' leading position in the environmental market and provides us with yet another opportunity to add value to the operations of this important client in Europe", said Walter Verbruggen, responsible for the ARCADIS activities in Germany. "As ARCADIS we have a wide spread of environmental activities throughout Europe and are capable to assist this client anywhere where they need support."
