Apollo Division Selects Green Ballast for EchoSun Lights

MEMPHIS, Tenn. and MOUNT VERNON, N.Y., May 4, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- EchoSun Energy, a division of Apollo Lighting, and Green Ballast, Inc. (OTCBB:GBLL) have announced that EchoSun Energy has selected the daylight harvesting ballast developed by Green Ballast, Inc. to be integrated into its EchoSun 2 and EchoSun 2LED lighting products.

Green Ballast was chosen after Apollo conducted rigorous ballast evaluations to determine the extent to which the ballast's continuous control system and wireless communication functions would meet the general specification requirements of EchoSun Energy to control the electrical light source, both fluorescent and LED.

The most significant factors in selecting Green Ballast's technology over more complicated dimming control systems were Green Ballast system's ability to lower costs per manufactured unit and enable each lighting unit to have its own individual dimming control system. Brad Sagona, President of Apollo, remarked, "The concept is for us to ship a daylight harvesting system that our customers can quickly and easily install and operate, without the complicated commissioning or programming required by other more expensive alternatives. The performance and simplicity of the Green Ballast product is without peer."

In addition to marketing directly to lighting manufacturers, Green Ballast also sells its ballast to commercial lighting end-users and energy solutions providers. Green Ballast CEO Kevin Adams commented, "We are delighted to be working with an OEM lighting manufacturer such as Apollo with a long tradition of making quality commercial lighting products."
