WINDSOR, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - May 8, 2012) - New home starts were up in April in the Windsor Census Metropolitan Area (CMA) according to preliminary data released today by Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC). Builders laid foundations for 65 homes compared to 48 in April 2011.
"In April, all of the areas within the Windsor CMA had more starts than in April 2011," said Paul Tessaro, Market Analyst for CMHC. "The even distribution across the CMA is a signal that overall economic conditions are continuing to improve."
April starts in the Windsor area included 55 single-detached homes, six semi-detached homes and four townhomes.
