Employers can pay migrant workers less


OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - May 14, 2012) - A group of unions and non-government organizations will hold a news conference on Tuesday, May 15 regarding the government's recently announced changes to the Temporary Foreign Worker Program (TFWP).

The changes, which will fast track employer applications for migrant workers and allow employers to pay migrant workers up to 15% less, are unfair and misguided. The government has included those changes in a large omnibus budget bill that is being pushed through Parliament.
