ADCOLE Crankshaft, Camshaft and Piston Gage Helps Assure Optimum Engine MPG and Long Life

MARLBOROUGH, MA--(Marketwire - Jun 12, 2012) - ADCOLE Corporation has upgraded their Model 1100 all purpose crankshaft/camshaft gage which provides submicron accuracy with fast unattended cycle times for the manufacture and quality control of critical rotating components.

The Adcole Model 1100 Gage is a complete system that utilizes dual-linear gratings for measuring 3,600 data points per revolution of cylindrical parts with submicron accuracy. Easy to load/unload and operate, measured parameters for crankshafts include diameter, roundness, cylindricity, straightness, parallelism, taper, radial runout, concentricity, axial runout, index angle, throw, true position, lobing, center deviation, lengths and widths.

Ideally suited to help engine manufacturers maintain the close tolerances required for optimum fuel economy and engine life, the Adcole Model 1100 Gage measures main and rod journals with ±0.5 micron radial accuracy, 0.5 micron linear scan accuracy, ±0.001 degree angular accuracy, ±5 micron axial accuracy, and 10% of tolerance repeatability. It has dual PC CPUs linked via DCOM, Windows® 7-based software, and a 19" color touch screen monitor.

The Adcole Model 1100 Gage is priced from $250,000.00. Literature and price quotations are available upon request.

About ADCOLE Corporation

Adcole Corporation is the global center of expertise for designing and manufacturing the world's highest accuracy machines for measuring camshafts, crankshafts and pistons, as well as digital sun angle sensors for space satellites. No other company can better measure critically important reciprocating engine components or the angle to the sun.

Founded in 1957, Adcole has manufacturing facilities in both Massachusetts and Florida and offices across the world, maintaining close relationships with their customers. The company's success, to a large extent, is based upon responding to their customers' requests for further refinements based upon their real-world experience. Most of these refinements have dealt with the need for higher accuracy and the need to measure more parameters including radius, profile, taper, crown, timing angle, diameter, velocity, acceleration, runout, and roundness and concentricity.
