Integra Telecom's Charity Golf Classic Tops $1 Million for Children With Special Needs

PORTLAND and NEWBERG, Ore., Aug. 3, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- In the 10th year of the "Hope for Children Charity Golf Classic," employees of Integra Telecom Inc., a provider of fiber-based, business-grade networking, communications and technology solutions, helped organize the annual charity golf tournament to benefit the Providence Newberg Health Foundation's Hope for Children Fund. Hosted July 23 at The Reserve Vineyards and Golf Club in Aloha, Oregon, the tournament raised more than $150,000 for children with special needs in Yamhill County. The generosity of past and present participants allowed this year's event to surpass the $1 million milestone, as the ten-year fundraising total reached $1,023,236.

"At Integra, service is one of our core values, and we live it not only through our commitment to our customers and employees, but also the work we do in our communities, by partnering with charitable organizations to support events like this one," said Kevin O'Hara, CEO at Integra Telecom. "The Hope for Children Charity Golf Classic is an exceptional opportunity to express our commitment to serve, and we are pleased to continue this tradition."

Last year, Providence Newberg Medical Center provided more than $4.7 million in community benefits, including $4 million in free or reduced-cost care for the communities' most needy patients. Each year, hundreds of children are served through gifts made to the Hope for Children Fund.

"The generosity of Integra and its employees has aided in our mission to provide care for our most vulnerable patients," said Diana Fisher, executive director of Providence Newberg Health Foundation. "They have proven time and time again to be a willing, enthusiastic and committed partner."
