MEDL and Mnet Team Up to Create a Digital Portal to All Things Asian Cool

Consumer Research and Innovative Thinking Lead to a Revolutionary Interface Which Will Introduce America to Korea's K-Pop Culture

FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., Aug. 7, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- MEDL Mobile, Inc. (OTCBB:MEDL) – a pioneer in the creation, development, marketing and monetization of mobile apps – and Mnet, a youth entertainment brand for all things Asian cool – announced the forthcoming launch of an innovative digital platform meant to open the door for young Americans to experience the world of Asian pop culture and entertainment.

Mnet uses video, digital, experiential and social media to entertain Asian Americans and fans of Asian pop culture. For example, through extensive consumer research, Mnet discovered that a wide foundation of interest in K-Pop, a music genre that was born in Korea but has exploded throughout the world in a "Korean Wave" that is now hitting the U.S., extends far beyond Asian Americans. Through a new partnership, Mnet and MEDL will be using a new, innovative digital platform to tap into this growing interest among U.S. millennials.

"Our research showed that many young people in the U.S. love K-Pop and the Asian culture, regardless of their ethnicity or background, but the desire for this content extends beyond its current availability on any platform, from TV to digital," said Ted Kim, acting president and CEO of Mnet. "In addition to bringing our fans the best of Asian American entertainment, Mnet is committed to being the leading destination for K-Pop. This new digital platform will expand what we are already doing on TV, as well as bring existing and new K-Pop fans more exclusive content and a richer experience than has ever before been available."

Mnet tapped MEDL Mobile to turn a wealth of consumer research into a digital portal. The MEDL Team responded with an innovative digital platform that will focus on six core areas of interest to American consumers ages 12-34: music, television, movies, social, gaming and shopping.

"It's been amazing to watch this project take shape. The focus group respondents told us loud and clear what they wanted - and that they wanted it all in one place," said Dave Swartz, CCO and co-founder of MEDL Mobile. "We responded with a digital object that curates content for the user and serves it up in a style that could only be done for a cutting edge brand like Mnet. We can't wait to unveil it to the masses."

MEDL and Mnet plan to launch the product in closed beta this summer, and to the public during Q3, 2012.
