Closed Areas for Shellfish Harvesting Gaspesie


QUEBEC CITY, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Aug. 10, 2012) - Fisheries and Oceans Canada wants to inform the Gaspésie population that the harvesting of shellfish is now forbidden due to pollution, in accordance with the prohibition order mentioned below, and pursuant to subsection 3(1) of the Management of Contaminated Fisheries Regulations, in the following shellfish areas:

Caplan (G-09.2)
From the western point of Caplan river to the extremity of Caplan's wharf.
Prohibition Order 2012Q-S-079
Ruisseau Leblanc (G-09.3)
From the extremity of Caplan's wharf to Caplan's water tower.

Newport (G-21.1)
From the southern point of Anse aux Crapauds to Pointe de Newport.
