Gearing Up for Montreal's Largest Back-to-School Distribution!

MONTREAL, QUÉBEC--(Marketwire - Aug. 13, 2012) - For many underprivileged Montreal families, buying school supplies is a challenge. To help these families get their children ready for the school year, Welcome Hall Mission is giving away over 90,000 school supplies with a total value of $175,000 to 2,600 underprivileged children in Montreal.

In celebration of our 11^th edition of Back-to-School with Heads Held High event, come witness the joy and excitement when our facilities are transformed into a farm for 2 days featuring live animals, performers, farmers, professional animators, yummy snacks, our mascot Archie the lion and many more surprises! Each of the 2,600 children registered with our Family Services will receive brand new backpacks, school board grade specific approved supplies, new clothing and shoes just in time for the new school year!

Welcome Hall Mission would like to thank ALDO and UPS for their partnership, as well as all 182 volunteers, individual donors and sponsors for taking an active role in equipping the next generation of leaders in our community.

Welcome Hall Mission is a charitable organization that has been fighting homelessness, poverty, social exclusion and hunger in Montreal since 1892. We operate the city's largest food bank, one of its largest men's shelters and run a live-in rehabilitation program.

We offer counseling and hot meals to over 100 street youth everyday, and provide activities and camps for over 6,000 children in underprivileged neighborhoods.
