Jim Jagielski is a well known and acknowledged expert and visionary in Open Source, IT and cloud computing. He is best known as one of the developers and co-founders of The Apache Software Foundation and serves as President. He also serves on the board, as well as secretary, for the Outercurve Foundation and is a director for the Open Source Initiative (OSI). He is a frequent speaker and presenter at Open Source and Web/Cloud conferences and was recently awarded the O'Reilly Open Source Award. Jim works for Red Hat, Inc as Consulting Software Engineer under the office of the CTO. He graduated from John Hopkins University with a BES in electrical engineering and computer science and continued on to receive his Masters and PhD. Before working at Red Hat he had worked at NASA, Zend Technologies, Covalent and VMWare.
