The College Network Grants Scholarships for Nurses at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis

The College Network Awards Nursing Education Scholarships in Memory of the Late Candace K. Eyler

INDIANAPOLIS, IN--(Marketwire - Aug 30, 2012) - For 20 years, The College Network® has focused on educating nurses, and the company's owner, Gary Eyler, has established a scholarship for nurses in the St. Vincent Hospital Network.

Each year since Candace K. Eyler, mother of Rob and Cory Eyler and former wife of Chief Executive Officer Gary Eyler, lost her battle with cancer, The College Network has awarded full and partial scholarships to working nurses who wish to continue their education. The scholarships are awarded to nurses who work within the St. Vincent Hospital network, where the late Candace Eyler was employed as an RN.

Lindsey Dewing, a previous scholarship award winner, said, "Becoming an RN has been a lifelong dream, and I am so grateful for the generous gift from the Eyler family. It is a wonderful program, and the scholarship helped so much!"

This year, the Eyler family is awarding a full scholarship to Maria Mitchell from Westfield, Ind., an LPN at St. Vincent Hospital. Mitchell will be recognized today at 2 p.m. during a ceremony held in St. Vincent Hospital's orthopedics building on 86th Street in Indianapolis.

"This ceremony is always a very sad but encouraging time for our family," said Rob Eyler, Senior Vice President of National Sales at The College Network. "Our mother dedicated her life to caring for others as a registered nurse, and we are honoring her memory with these scholarships. We hope that these nurses will complete their education goals and continue to serve others as my mother did."
