Kaztec Engineering Ltd. Named Best Oil Services Company of the Year

ABUJA, Nigeria, Sept. 6, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Kaztec Engineering Ltd. (www.kaztec-eng.com), a leader in the fabrication of drilling and production platforms and other specialized structures for the oil and gas industry, today announced that the National Association of Energy Correspondents (NAEC) awarded the company, Best Oil Service Company of the Year in Nigeria. Kaztec is a subsidiary of the Chrome Group (www.thechromegroup.net), a leading West African oil and gas conglomerate.

The award was presented at the National Association of Energy Correspondents (NAEC) August Conference 2012. The theme of the event was, "Energy Industry Deregulation: Prospects and Challenges to the Economy." It was held at Eko Hotel and Suites on Victoria Island in Lagos.

"In recent years Kaztec has proven that our people, equipment and processes are as good as any in the industry, delivering project after project safely, in record time, within budget and in accordance with international best practices,"said Sir Emeka Offor, chairman of the Chrome Group. "When the world's oil and gas companies think about fabrication for the oil and gas industry in Nigeria, they now think first about Kaztec."

Some of the criteria that contributed to Kaztec's selection as Best Oil Service Company of the Year are its commitment to meeting customers' requirements, which made it the first choice supplier for a range of services, in addition to continuously improving services and expanding business opportunities globally. The award also recognizes Kaztec's significant contributions in fostering the federal government's policy on Nigerian Content Development in the nation's oil and gas industry.

To boost its operations, Kaztec, a 100 percent indigenous company, has a number of vessels, including DLB Ekulo Cheyenne which is one of the biggest pipelay and construction barges in the entire Gulf of Guinea. Its lifting capacity, (including a main fixed lifting capacity of 850 tons) makes the Ekulo Cheyenne well equipped to perform the designated call-off contract jobs in the TB 1921 contract agreement. Kaztec also recently acquired two new anchor vessels – Ekulo Explorer and Ekulo Spirit – for onshore, offshore and deep water oil and gas services.

The Chrome Group, founded in 1994 by Sir Emeka Offor, is one of Nigeria's leading indigenous multinational businesses with subsidiaries operating in oil and gas exploration and production, oil and gas servicing, engineering, insurance, logistics and power industries.
