OCSPCA 15th Annual Walk for the Animals Set to Take Place Sunday, September 23rd at Huntington Beach Central Park

"Woofstock" to Feature Special Events for Pets and Animal Lovers to Benefit OCSPCA - Providing Services to Orange County for 25 Years

HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA--(Marketwire - Sep 12, 2012) - The Orange County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (OCSPCA) is calling all animal lovers to join the 15th Annual "Walk for the Animals" fundraiser taking place Sunday, Sept. 23.

This year the Orange County SPCA is celebrating 25 years of service in Orange County. Sponsored by presenting sponsors The Walking Company and Big Dogs Sportswear, all event proceeds support programs that provide direct aid for animals in Orange County including veterinary assistance, as well as funding for spaying and neutering to help control the pet population.

More than 700 animal lovers and dogs are expected to attend this year's "Woofstock" 1960's-inspired celebration. Event highlights include cool canine contests for "Best Far Out Trick" and "Grooviest Costume," and demonstrations by the Disc Dogs in Southern California. Dog owners and their pets can participate in a mini agility course, and take advantage of low-cost AVID micro chipping taking place at the event. Additionally, attendees have the opportunity to get in on special event give-aways and pledge prizes.

"The Orange County SPCA is proud to celebrate 25 years of promoting humane treatment of animals and providing valuable services to pet owners in need in Orange County," said OCSPCA Board of Directors' President Donna Calkin. "Our 15th annual Walk for the Animals 'Woofstock' event is a fantastic way for animal lovers and their pets to join together and support a very worthy cause. In keeping with the theme and spirit of the event, attendees should feel free to relive the '60s in their clothing choices!"
