Government of Canada Lends Financial Support to the LAVAL TECHNOPOLE International Business Centre


MONTRÉAL, QUÉBEC--(Marketwire - Sept. 13, 2012) - The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, announces that the LAVAL TECHNOPOLE International Business Centre, a regional export promotion agency, has been granted financial assistance to support Laval's small and medium-sized manufacturers and service providers in their efforts to boost their export capabilities.

"The Government of Canada is keeping its focus on employment, growth and sustainable prosperity, as this support to the LAVAL TECHNOPOLE International Business Centre illustrates," said Minister Lebel.

Since 1996, the LAVAL TECHNOPOLE International Business Centre has been providing guidance and coaching in exporting to small and medium-sized enterprises based in Laval. The centre also organizes awareness and training activities as well as foreign trade missions.

This financial assistance, granted in the form of a $516,000 non-repayable contribution, has been awarded through Canada Economic Development's Business and Regional Growth program.
