New Physical Therapist Joins the Sarasota Chiropractic, Physical Therapy & Massage Team

SARASOTA, Fla., Sept. 16, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Sarasota Chiropractic, Physical Therapy & Massage announced that Alfred Mousa, a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT), has joined the practice. At the chiropractic center, he will work closely with chiropractor Dr. Abe Kozma, providing physical therapy treatments that complement Dr. Kozma's chiropractic adjustments. According to Dr. Kozma, physical therapy is an important component to the pain management clinic's natural healing and post-surgery rehabilitation program for people recovering from personal injury.

Doctor of Physical Therapy Alfred Mousa has joined the pain management center Sarasota Chiropractic, Physical Therapy & Massage to provide treatment as part of the practice's post-surgery rehabilitation program. He will perform pre- and post-surgical physical therapy to help patients gain strength and mobility with concentration on injuries to the spine, shoulders, hips, knees, elbows, wrists, ankles, and feet.

"We are thrilled to welcome Alfred to our pain management and sports injury rehabilitation team," said chiropractor Dr. Abe Kozma. "We follow a whole body approach to managing pain and helping injuries heal. Physical therapy is an important part of our treatments and naturally enhances the benefits of chiropractic adjustments."

The clinic provides physiotherapy treatments designed to reduce post-surgical inflammation and scar tissue following a personal injury. Patients, who have sustained athletic injuries, including shoulder surgery, will be recommended for a post-surgery rehabilitation program at the clinic to work with the new DPT.

"I am excited to join the talented Sarasota natural healing and wellness team," said Alfred Mousa, DPT. "I am passionate about helping patients safely heal after an injury. No one should ever feel like chronic pain is stopping them from living their life. Physical therapy and chiropractic care can help patients get back on track."

According to Dr. Kozma, physical therapy exercises following certain surgeries are essential to helping the body heal and manage pain. "Many patients are nervous, however, to exercise for fear of future injury. I work closely with each patient to design a treatment plan tailored to his or her individual rehabilitation needs. With proper supervision, these exercises can help safely restore movement and flexibility back to the body," said Dr. Kozma.

The chiropractor also states that patients who have sustained an athletic injury may benefit from physical therapy treatments. For example, these treatments can help reduce tendon inflammation in patients suffering from tennis elbow or golf elbow. Chiropractic adjustments help restore alignment to the spine, correcting improper motion that triggers tendon inflammation.

"Our integrated approach to rehabilitation and wellness care is one reason that Sarasota patients choose our pain management clinic. We understand that the best treatments combine different therapies to address the patient as a whole. Alfred's physical therapy exercises are an important component to this treatment program," said Dr. Kozma.

The Sarasota pain management clinic provides post-surgery rehabilitation, chiropractic adjustments, natural healing and wellness care.
