Feathers fly as workers ask Lilydale to play Fair, not Foul

EDMONTON, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - Oct. 2, 2012) -

Locked out workers at the Lilydale poultry plant in Edmonton are asking the public to support the workers' call for fairness in a new contract.

More than 200 workers at the Lilydale facility have been without a contract since April, and Lilydale and its owner, Sofina Foods, aren't budging at the bargaining table.

With Thanksgiving just a few days away, the workers and their union have launched a province-wide public awareness campaign. Tens of thousands of leaflets are being distributed across Alberta, asking the public to tell Lilydale to play Fair, not Foul.

The leaflet has caused quite a flap. You can view a copy of it at the following link: http://www.marketwire.com/library/20121002-UFCWCanadaLilydaleLeafletLRG.jpg
