WildPackets Announces 40G Support With Omni Distributed Analysis Platform 7.0

Latest Update Also Provides Better Network Visibility and Troubleshooting on Highly Distributed Networks

WALNUT CREEK, CA--(Marketwire - Oct 3, 2012) - WildPackets, Inc., a leading provider of network and application performance analysis solutions, today announced the Omni Distributed Analysis Platform 7.0 with 40G support. With the rapid increase of 40G network deployments, WildPackets is addressing the network analysis needs with new hardware and software to capture and troubleshoot traffic on these state-of-the-art, high-speed network backbones as well as highly distributed networks.

The Omni Distributed Analysis Platform covers all network analysis functions, from overall, distributed network monitoring and reporting to detailed troubleshooting based on network forensics and deep packet inspection. In addition to the 40G network analysis support, the latest Omni Distributed Analysis Platform release includes the ability to trace network performance across multiple network hops, correlate detailed analytical results with the Compass dashboard, and gain easy access to network data from end users for complete analysis of the end-user experience to more efficiently understand problems on today's highly distributed, cloud-based architectures.

"Networks continue to grow, both in breadth and capability," said Tim McCreery, CEO at WildPackets. "The Omni Distributed Analysis Platform 7.0 meets the analytical needs of the most demanding networks, regardless of speed or architecture, offering flexible solutions that address the most complicated problems possible on any network."

Key Software Updates Include:

  • Multi-Segment Network Analysis (MSA): Follows network activity across highly-distributed, cloud-based architectures from client to server via multiple points, aggregating the traffic and identifying the source of network problems.

  • Remote End-User Experience Analysis and Support with OmniPeek Remote Assistant: Used with MSA, simplifies troubleshooting. Non-technical end users capture and collect data from their workstations and return the data to network engineers for deeper troubleshooting and analysis. Network engineers can measure application performance all the way out to the end user and no longer need to leave the office to perform remote analysis.

  • Visibility Enhancements with Compass dashboard: Includes one-way and two-way latencies, correlated reporting of network flows, and real-time, interactive graphing of WildPackets Expert analysis pinpointing areas that require deeper analysis.
