Concentric water pump for new European truck

Concentric AB has secured a multi-year contract at a major truck manufacturer
for the supply of water pumps on an engine to be launched in line with Euro 6 /
US EPA13 legislation.

Production will start late in the fourth quarter of 2012, with ramp-up to full
volumes continuing through 2013, ready in good time for the Euro 6 legislative
milestone on 1st January 2014. Annual revenues will be in the region of MSEK 74,
based on predicted volumes of 60,000 engines annually.

The Concentric pump is a bespoke design, developed for the vehicle's 13 litre
engine. This high performance unit features integrated thermostats, integrated
water filtration and a single-piece injection-moulded impeller. Concentric
expertise in fluid dynamics has been used to optimize the fluid ports directing
flow from the radiator, EGR cooler, oil cooler and heater matrix. The impeller
design and pump geometry has resulted in a highly efficient water pump that
delivers best-in-class cooling to the engine.

Variable Flow technology will be utilised for both oil pump and water pump
applications.”
