NCSBN Center for Regulatory Excellence Research Program Announces Request for Proposals


CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwire - Oct 29, 2012) -   The National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN®), www.ncsbn.org, announces a deadline of Jan. 18, 2013, for submission of scientific proposals to its Center for Regulatory Excellence grant program.

The Center for Regulatory Excellence awards grant funding for up to $300,000 for scientific research projects that advance the science of nursing regulation and build regulatory expertise worldwide. Grants are awarded to qualified researchers who are interested in, though not limited to, the following research priorities:

  • Patient safety;
  • Scope of practice (licensed practical/vocational nurses [LPN/VN], registered nurses [RN] and advanced practice registered nurses [APRN] issues);
  • Nursing education;
  • Continued competence;
  • Discipline and alternatives to discipline; and
  • National and international regulatory issues and/or portability.
