Hofseth BioCare ASA has destructed approximately 50% of the volumes of soluble proteins (SPH) produced in October, following measurements indicating bacterial levels above defined maximum levels. The destruction will affect revenues in the fourth quarter negatively by approximately NOK 3 million. The issues related to the exceeded bacterial levels have been resolved, and production is now running as normal.
- The high bacterial levels were caused by impurities in the production process or in the raw-material. Efforts to eliminate the problems have been implemented and the production is currently running as normal, with bacterial levels well within approved levels, says CEO Sjur Jenssen in Hofseth BioCare.
The company's production facility in Misund has a monthly theoretical capacity of 100 tons.
