Andis Sauvignon Blanc Top 20 in Wine Enthusiast's 2012 World's Best Wines

PLYMOUTH, CA--(Marketwire - Oct 30, 2012) - Wine Enthusiast Magazine this week named Andis Wines' popular 2011 Sauvignon Blanc its #20 wine in the world for 2012 in its annual ranking of the Top 100 wines of the year.

The honor by Wine Enthusiast, which gave the 2011 Sauvignon Blanc a 93 score earlier this year, is the latest in a series of praise and high scores coming recently to Andis from wine writers and critics.

"We're thrilled the critics appreciate our wines as much as our customers do," said owner Andy Friedlander. "We have one goal here -- to make great wine. We love what we're doing now and we know we can do even better."

The recent appreciation from critics includes:

  • 92 points from Wine Enthusiast for Andis' 2011 Semillon.
  • 90 points from Wine Spectator for the 2010 Estate Zinfandel, which Spectator included in a list of "20 Outstanding New Wines from California."
  • 92 points for the 2010 Mourvedre from Wine Enthusiast in its still-to-be released December Buyers Guide. Enthusiast called the wine seductive and beautiful, and said "Andis is a producer to watch."

"We're incredibly proud of the wines we make," said winemaker and general manager Mark McKenna. "And I honestly don't know what's better, getting all the praise from wine pros, or seeing how much people in our tasting room love our wines."
