InFocus Mondopad to Showcase Touch-Friendly Windows 8

Only Giant PC-Touch Tablet With Current Compatibility and Immediately Planned Optimization

PORTLAND, OR--(Marketwire - Oct 30, 2012) - InFocus Corp., a global leader in digital display devices and visual collaboration technology, has announced that the Mondopad, the company's groundbreaking 55-inch multi-touch tablet, will be compatible with Windows 8, the new Microsoft operating system that launched Oct. 26. The Mondopad, which currently includes a built-in Windows 7 PC, will be able to load Windows 8 immediately, creating a true PC-Tablet hybrid and seamless user experience.

A touch interface is often a more human, natural way to interact with images and information and because the Mondopad will include Windows 8, interaction will be even more intuitive. Further, Mondopad users will be able to utilize the PC Marketplace, accessing a host of applications that will help customize the Mondopad for their business or classroom. InFocus is planning future iterations of the Mondopad that will be optimized for Windows 8, including up to five additional screen touch points allowing multiple users to interact on the Mondopad display screen simultaneously.

"We're excited to capture the best of both worlds in the Mondopad -- the power of the PC and convenience of a touch tablet," said Raymond Yu, president of InFocus. "The Mondopad with Windows 8 will enhance the immersive experience. Whether it's used as an interactive whiteboard in the classroom or as a video conferencing tool in the boardroom, there is no other touch PC-tablet the size of Mondopad on the market."

Windows 8 features significant changes to the Windows environment, including a new touch interface, a new Start screen in place of the traditional Start menu, and a new platform for apps that can be downloaded from the Windows Store.
