Western Canada's Largest Electrical Distributor Showcases Sustainable Energy's PARALEX Inverters as it Launches New Standardized Rooftop Packages

Through distribution agreement, flagship PARALEX package is now powering largest solar power system in Alberta

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - Oct. 31, 2012) - Sustainable Energy Technology Ltd. (TSX VENTURE:STG) ("Sustainable Energy" or the "Company") a designer and manufacturer of smart grid inverters for distributed electrical generation and storage systems, today announced that its PARALEX inverters are now powering the largest solar power system in Alberta, which was recently commissioned on the roof of EECOL Electric's new Calgary state of the art regional main branch serving its Southern Alberta branches.

EECOL Electric is one of Canada's largest distributors of electrical products and has a dominant position in Western Canada. EECOL recently announced the formation of a renewable energy division and has begun offering standardized solar PV packages to its existing customer base of builders and electricians based exclusively on parallel system architecture. Micro-inverters are supplied for packages using up to 17 solar modules and Sustainable Energy's PARALEX inverters are supplied for larger systems.

Jason Zurowski, Manager of Energy and Sustainability Solutions at EECOL Electric commented. "Our customer base is looking for a simple modular product solution to streamline installation and approvals, and to reduce design and procurement costs. For smaller systems we like the micro-inverter and for larger systems we like the systems built around the PARALEX inverter. The parallel approach makes it easy to easily adjust the system layout as the final structural requirements are defined and allow our contractors to keep their focus on getting the job done."

"We are very happy with how the system has turned out, and look forward to working with Sustainable Energy to train our network of contractors to bring simple solar solutions to customers in Western Canada and beyond,"

Brent Harris Chief Technical Officer for Sustainable Energy commented: "EECOL Electric is taking a real leadership role in the deployment of solar PV in Canada, and we are very pleased to be a part of that effort. This partnership is an example of Canada's industry getting in line with more mature markets where such packaging approaches are reducing the cost of solar by eliminating the need for project specific design consulting and de-risking installation costs and schedules."

About Sustainable Energy:

Sustainable Energy (www.SustainableEnergy.com) designs and manufactures advanced power electronics for distributed smart grid and micro-grid applications. Advanced power electronics are a critical interface between all distributed generation and storage systems device ensuring the delivery of high quality alternating current (AC) to the power grid as well as providing utility control over the interconnection and power quality. Sustainable Energy has designed a simple low cost platform which is software configurable for a wide range of low voltage generation and storage technologies including solar PV fuel cells and all the emerging battery technologies. The Company's platform is based on breakthroughs in power conversion technology which enable its platform to convert high current/low voltage DC into high quality AC with conversion efficiencies that are materially higher than anything in the market.

Sustainable Energy's growth strategy is to partner strategically with companies which have the products and/or market position to lever the benefits of the Company's technologies into superior product solutions.
