First To File Continues Global Expansion, Implementing Trademark IP Management Module at top New Zealand Law Firm - James & Wells Intellectual Property

Asia-Pacific IP Leader Selects Electronic File Room(TM) for Seamless Trademark Management

SAN MATEO, Calif., Nov. 13, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- First To File® (FTF), a leading provider of SaaS-based IP management technology continues its steady global expansion, announcing today that leading New Zealand IP law firm James & Wells Intellectual Property has implemented its Electronic File Room Trademarks Module (EFR-TM) for web-based IP information management. EFR-TM is a software-as-a-service that organizes all trademark documents into electronic files and provides a platform for automation, electronic workflow and document sharing.

James & Wells selected FTF to streamline collaboration between its four offices, increasing efficiency and sustainability. The EFR system, which includes Outlook integration, enables lawyers and staff to share and track matters while increasing efficiency, quality, ROI, and most importantly client satisfaction. Prior to buying FTF, the firm printed all email correspondences to paper for filing. As a leading sustainable business, and recipient of several awards, James & Wells were determined to decrease paper usage by implementing an electronic system.

All of James & Wells' trademarks department is using the FTF system to create a single, shared workspace for the firm. Implementation of the EFR-TM trademark application required only two weeks and will be followed by installations of First To File's Patents and Workflow solutions within the next 12 months.

Ian Finch, Partner at James & Wells commented, "First To File's EFR-TM, a centralized, web-based system that can be accessed from any browser, solves the problem of distance for us. We can now easily and efficiently share information and distribute work across our offices. Also, the Outlook Plug-in is a favorite - it's unbelievable how much time this one feature saves us. We expect even greater efficiencies to emerge as the whole firm adopts the system within the next twelve months."

First To File CEO James P. Bergeron remarked, "We are pleased that James & Wells has selected our Electronic File Room as we expand our global customer base. Our technology and paperless process will create greater efficiency, accessibility and sustainability, which are essential to the firm's core values.  We are steadily gaining momentum throughout the Asia-Pacific region."
